Item 144.  Gorham Sterling Zodiac Spoon

A Zodiac teaspoon for June.  This is one of the famous Zodiac teaspoons made by Gorham in Sterling.  This spoon is the June spoon for “Cancer” with the zodiac crab symbol.  The eyes and claws have amazing details.  Engraved with the number “26 “ on the front handle, presumably for 1926,  The back of the spoon is marked with the Gorham logo, Sterling, and the letter H in a diamond shaped cartouche.  It is also marked: “Pat March 20, 1894”.  The top of the back handle is engraved with the initials E C D.  The spoon measures six inches (6”) long.  It weighs approximately 33 grams.  It is in good condition.  The bowl of the spoon has s some spotting and superficial scratches.
