Item 131. Tiffany sterling berry or vegetable spoon.
This spoon is marked on the back of the handle “Tiffany & Co., Sterling, Pat 1878” and the letter “M” for the presidency of Edward Moore. Of 1870-1890 vintage. The bowl of the spoon has a very pleasing shape, curved and its back features a mythological motif in relief (the head of Venus?) with details only seen on Tiffany flatware. The handle has for one of its Olympian scenes, Paris offering the apple to the three goddesses, Juno. Venus and Minerva. It is a great spoon. In good condition, with some superficial scratches. It measures eight and three-quarter inches (8-3/4”) long. The bowl measures two and one-quarter inches (2-1/4”) by two inches (2”). The spoon weighs 120 grams (3.84 troy ounces)
